1. How do I sign up to officially enter the hackathon?
- Go to your regional hacknode page (BlockseBlock: Win Hackathons & Build Next-Gen Projects for Australia) and click Apply Now. Include your details, GitHub username, team name (if applicable), university name, and project name to officially register.
2. How do I submit my project?
- To submit your project:
- Choose your track from the GitHub repo.
- Clone the repository to your local computer.
- Create a branch with your project name and switch to that branch.
- Open the repository in Cursor AI or your preferred code editor.
- Copy a demo app folder to a new folder in the HACKATHON-SUBMISSIONS folder or create a new app using Cursor AI.
- Update your code and app deployment, following guidance from our workshop videos.
- Create a pull request (PR) to the main GitHub repository, ensuring only files in your HACKATHON-SUBMISSIONS sub-folder are updated. Your PR is your official submission.
- Share your app submission in our discord #app-showcase
3. Can I participate as part of a team?
- Yes, team participation is encouraged! Collaborate, divide tasks, and build together. Ensure your GitHub PR reflects all team members’ contributions, and list their GitHub usernames in the README file. Include your team name during sign-up.
4. What is an XNode One?
- An XNode One is a dedicated GPU block worth $3500, designed to run AI workloads seamlessly. Selected projects may gain access to one to further develop and scale their ideas.
5. Can I submit an existing project?
- Yes, but only code committed during the hackathon period (July 15–August 15, 2025) will be assessed. Align your project with one of the provided tracks and clearly document any improvements or adaptations in your README. Both fresh ideas and enhanced existing projects are welcome.
6. Is there any cost to participate?
- No, the hackathon is completely free. Bring your ideas, energy, and coding skills to participate.
7. What are the available tracks?
- Choose from 9 exciting tracks, each focusing on a unique AI application. The 9 tracks include:
- Textstream: Build AI apps for text transformation (e.g., chatbots, article generators).
- Soundwave: Develop audio-driven AI solutions (e.g., voice assistants, speech-to-text).
- Gamejam: Create AI-enhanced games or tools (e.g., smart NPCs, dynamic worlds).
- Vision: Build AI apps for image recognition, object detection, or video analysis.
- Enviro: Develop AI solutions for environmental challenges (e.g., climate modeling, wildlife tracking).
- HealthTech: Innovate in healthcare with AI (e.g., medical image analysis, disease prediction).
- FinTech: Build AI tools for finance (e.g., fraud detectors, predictive market analyzers).
- LearnAI: Develop AI-powered educational tools (e.g., personalized tutors, automated grading).

8. When is the hackathon?
- The hackathon runs from July 15 to August 15, 2025. You can sign up all the way till Aug 11, and app submissions close on Aug 12.
9. What are the orientation sessions?

10. Can I participate solo?
- Yes, you can participate individually or as part of a team, depending on your preference.
11. What are the submission requirements?
- Submit a working prototype of your AI application, a 2-5 minute demo video (uploaded as an unlisted YouTube video or on another platform), and a GitHub pull request with project files and a detailed README. 12. When are submissions due?
- Submissions open on July 25, 2025, and close on August 12, 2025.
13. How will winners be selected?
- Winners are selected based on innovation, technical quality, user experience, and impact, as evaluated by the judges.
